I’ve done everything else you could imagine in the entrepreneur world…minus one… Continue reading
Today, as a whole, made absolutely no sense. It was some disastrous day, but man…it was a strange, very long one.
Note: Grab popcorn
Now, I love my job. It’s fun, exciting, and challenging. It is a job where I forget that, well, it’s a job. However, to access the office that is so dear to my heart it requires a 86 mile one way trip. Even with my lovely little Mazda3 that’s still a lot of ground to cover, nearing 180 miles a day. That means we, as a family, spend a lot of money on fuel. Continue reading
It isn’t even 9:30 and I’m already in bed. I’m not sick, but I’m definitely getting some rest.
Tomorrow is a time trial test at the track, so I’m resting up to be 100% there. Also, today I honestly felt like I was going through the motions. I wrote a blog, made my posts, posted the photos, etc…but today I just felt out of my element. So, some epic rest tonight, and we’ll be ready to rock in the morning.
It’s definitely Friday, and it’s definitely been Friday of that kind of week. Two days in a row I’ve messed up moves at work, and made mistakes. Trust me when I share with you that I absolutely hate making mistakes with clients accounts. 4:00 AM this morning was the weekly time of waking up to check on the bank account, deposits, and trying to figure out what we’re going to do next to ensure that the bills are covered and we still are able to put fuel in the cars (and food in our mouths). This week just kind of ended on a bit of a sour note. That really just kind of sums it up.
I look forward to waking up in the morning, running a nice, calm 5K out in the country, hitting a clients place for breakfast, and staying out in the country for the rest of the day (with a shower for sure).
I think this’ll most likely be the last “XO” post at http://www.filingthepapers.com. I can firmly able to say that I’m ready to see “XO” fade off into the sunset (or tragically burn in a fire…either really works).
FilingThePapers is finally clean again; the months entries have been organized for the most part. There are five days left until the next chapter is ready to launch, so please excuse if the site goes down, disappears, has spelling errors, or posts random photos of the “dark one”. Continue reading
I was attempting to give a brief presentation to my supervisor this afternoon about some analytic details, etc…
Eventually he said the following:
A poor dog doesn’t wag his own tail…
I’m still trying to figure out what that means. I’m not sure if he was complimenting me, or warning me.
I’m assuming that everyone has the notion at one time or another in life that they’re going to do something great, they’re going to be on some amazing adventure, you know…they’re going to change the world.
I know at least that teachers think it when they enter their first year in the classroom.
…that was a partial joke… Continue reading
Darco and I are running in 5K’s tomorrow and Sunday throughout Missouri and Kansas; naturally I’m having a problem falling asleep.
Cool story for today:
At one point I made note of this small event where my mug was featured on Facebook by a company named ALO drink. What I didn’t know at the time was that, that was just the beginning.
Last month I found this flyer posted on Facebook by the same company:
As you can see; again my ugly mug is in full view. This was the ALO drink #ALOVE contest that’s currently running on Facebook and Twitter. Because they used my photo they felt it necessary to contact me, just to say thanks. However, it quickly turned into learning that they were shipping me a case of all of their products. All seventeen products. I enjoy ALO drink because it’s high in potassium, it’s GMO-free, and it is great at re-hydrating you after a long run or workout. It keeps me from cramping up, and trust me that’s a good thing. It’s a product that I’d openly endorse.
My phone rang tonight and it was Jim; notifying me that a 21 pound box had shown up at their doorstep today. Tonight I stopped by to pick it up, and wouldn’t you know it…it was a sampler pack of beverages from the guys at ALO drink.
I’m pretty pumped; not just because I have coconut water running out of my ears [something that never happens], but because it’s been a fun relationship that’s been established with this company out of California.
Yes, this is also all part of a new project that’s currently under construction within our household as well.
