Remember that time when I said I’m a teacher…

Now let me whip...

…and that we do crazy things in class…

Maslow & Freud would be proud.

…and frequently I run around like a chicken with my head cut off…

I can't run this fast, but I know YOU can...

Mobile Minutes: Shower Strength

I’ve come to love my Saturday’s.

Sleep in a few hours (when the sun is actually up). Take a long, hot shower without keeping time. Brew my coffee, enjoy a few spells.

Outline the day.

Smile.

Carry on.

Welp…
Originally it was an apartment that approved us for moving.
Then we checked on a duplex north of the city on a lake.
…and the apartment offer was blown out of the water (pun intended).
-Washer & Dryer
-Full Basement
-Balcony
-Back Yard
-Front Yard
-Two Car Garage
-In The Country
-Near 15 miles worth of trails
-Two minutes to the lake
-2.5 baths
-2 bedrooms
-High ceilings

Cost: Less than the apartment with potential opportunity to own.

Wow.

Mobile Minutes: Never Ending Joy

I love how life is no longer, “just another week.” I’m grateful that I’m praying for Friday night because I’m so tired each day from school. Frankly, teaching is so fun it’s rather disturbing. This week was another taste of insanity; school, parent teacher conferences, debates, and my first experience at cross country meets.

Assignment: Attack your thoughts about these political cartoons and propaganda with Post-It notes. Good luck!

My very first cross country runners with their hard earned medals.

This is a pretty cool life.

XXXI: Bell Ringing & Tardies

I am blessed.

I’m just over a week into being an official teacher inside the school I’m currently with. It’s been a whirlwind of a month; from teacher orientation, room design and construction (literally), to the very first day of school. It’s easily a thought that I’ve processed on multiple days, but have concluded that the battery life in my keyboard wouldn’t last long enough for me to type out all of my thoughts in relation to this amazing experience.

Truly, the best way to sum it up is to say that I’m blessed. Continue reading

I spent five hours in school today. Just organizing this and that, and getting my computer updated. About twenty minutes before I left the principal came into my room. We talked briefly about the upcoming school year, technology, and behavior styles of students. It was just a refreshing small part of my day because it continued to demonstrate to me that I’ve arrived to the education world.

For that, I am grateful.

After a board meeting, some news releases, and a few emails I found a document in school account.

My official contract.
The. Real. Deal.

Even with class preparations going strong it still doesn’t feel real. It’s definitely something that’s hard to convey, but I love this sensation of joy.
